What Introverts Understand About Sales That Most People Miss

In my keynote on human connection, I talk about something that surprises a lot of people.
Introverts often have a natural advantage when it comes to building real relationships.
That goes against everything we have been taught.
For years, sales has been associated with being outgoing, high-energy, and always talking.
But in today’s environment, that approach is not always effective.
Because the real currency in sales today is not attention.
It is trust.
And trust is not built by talking more.
It is built by listening better.
Introverts tend to observe before they speak.
They take in information.
They pay attention to what is not being said.
And that creates something powerful.
Space.
Space for the other person to share.
Space for real conversation.
Space for connection.
In a world where most people are trying to be heard, the person who truly listens stands out.
This is not about personality.
It is about behavior.
Anyone can learn to listen more intentionally.
Anyone can learn to ask better questions.
Anyone can learn to be more present.
When I work with teams, this is one of the biggest mindset shifts we make.
You do not need to be the loudest voice in the room.
You need to be the most connected.
Because the person who understands the client best…
is the one who earns their trust.
